I just got put into pivot. Unfortunately, I’m working Visa and have to stay on payroll ad long as I can to find a job. It’s likely I will choose the improvement plan. Understand it’s high probability that I cannot get out of it by the end. I do have 20+ days PTO, can I use it before leaving the company? #Pivot #pto #amazon
What’s a pivot?
Sounds like a PIP
Just get severance and get another job. During PIP they can terminate you anytime anyway. At Amazon devplan means you must get external offer asap, then get severance and go to your new job. That's the only right thing you can do for yourself. Managers at Amazon don't have time or incentive to have you improved. They just need to fill the URA quota.
You can take ptos if your manager is okay with it. You can also try applying for loss of absence
Apply for FMLA leave. They cannot legally fire you once you are on it. Use that time to find a new job and gtfo
What is FMLA leave?
I saw it on internal page. It has up to 12 weeks and can apply PTO

Unfortunately, it’s against the company policy to take PTOs while in Pivot. However, confirm this with HR to make sure. Sorry that you were put in Pivot, it’s not a big deal if you leave the country as you can always come back for another job. Try a startup or some low tier company in this period.
