lots of talks about WLB, it seems amazon is bad and microsoft is good. what does the PTO policy look like? can a new hire take 20-30days off in a year? does it depend on your level? how about taking unpaid days off?
Usually starts at 15 days PTO a year. Depending on your manager you can take additional 15-20 days of unpaid time off with no issues. You can also WFH occasionally
Fwiw, you get 20 days after three years, 25 after five.
EU chiming in, 26 PTO mandated by law 😎
How are those 50+% taxes treating you? ;-)
Great! Cheap healthcare, awesome public transport etc etc
10 days for end of year vacation. Thanksgiving week vacation. 15 days of PTO. 10 (I guess) regular holidays (memorial day, etc.). So yea can easily add up to 25-30 even for a new hire.

Some places have unlimited vacation/pto. What’s that all about. How does work get completed lol
People will get called out by their manager if they abuse it. So people will usually end up not using so many hours which they would've used if they had fixed number of PTO hours.
But is taking a whole month off a year at a time “abusing” pto? I wouldn’t think so
