Got an offer from CDW...Principal Field Solution Architect $205k OTE 80/20 plan...accelerators after 100% quota. Not sure about spiffs...Currently at $165k OTE. Any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    It’s low for Pre-Sales assuming you have experience, which I am assuming unless they are just attaching principal to anything.

    Pretty easy right now to get 235 OTE + equity for Vendor Field SE role. If you are in an HCOL area with a lot of experience might get 250k OTE, market is very hot.

      Yeah you could beat that OTE with a Vendor Pre-Sales gig pretty easily. Would also get equity on top of it.

      Never worked for a VAR though so don’t know how likely it is to over achieve and/or how much additional spiffs add up to.

    From Insight to CDW? Is CDW still rev based target vs GP based at most places? If so target should be easy to hit, just make sure the culture on the team is good. I went Insight -> WWT and am somewhat regretting it

      Jeeze, good on you! We gotta do what's best for us at the end of the day so kudos. For what it's worth, one of my mentors only had incredible things to say about SHI so glad to hear another instance of that

    I used to work at CDW. I would reach out to other Principal Field Solutions Architects and ask them about their experience before making the move. I evaluated different roles before leaving CDW by reaching out to the people in those roles and I learned ALOT! Be upfront and ask them about their compensation. They will more than likely tell you and then compare your experience to theirs. CDW underpays when they give you that initial offer.

      So looks like a counter offer is in order...say $215-220k? RSUs were not present in their 1st offer. What's a reasonable counter? Signing bonus as well?

      I’m going to be honest with you. I haven’t heard of anybody receiving a signing bonus at CDW but I would ask. Definitely come back with a counter offer, don’t accept their first offer because they low ball everyone. They definitely have 10-20k wiggle room.
