When other companies comparable to Confluent work (quality and quantity) are giving rsus in the order of ~$800k over 4 years. Why is Confluent giving only in the range of $600k?
I am sure it must be because they can but are people choosing Confluent over other companies irrespective of this rsu difference?
Which companies would you choose above Confluent if that company gives +$50k more per year?
My guess is:
Meta (good offer, good company, good new work maybe?)
Snapchat (the offer difference is wayy more than just $50k)
Uber?
Databricks?
Rubriks?
Snowflake?
Roblox?

But I have heard snowflake is more aggressive with pay but the decision also comes down to expected equity performance.
Also what level was the above offer at.
Either the interview bar is high, so high payment or need to attract is high, so high payment, etc. I am not able to figure out why Confluent is not more aggressive in it's offers apart from what I posted. And I am not sure if anyone on blind can tell us either. But when you say "you asked why and I told you", you should realize that I did not understand the why because your point is - "It is what it is".
Anyway when I was interviewing my Confluent offer was much higher than my Uber offer so idk (I live in Europe, maybe that makes a difference)
And yes, being in Europe maybe the difference as well as the band difference, if any. In USA, the offer difference between Uber and Confluent is quite high and I have the highest possible offers in that band (at both places)
