My company used to. Then it all got standardized :-/
No
No. None of the big ones do, to my knowledge
The lashings will stop when your work is finished. Bezos will smile down upon you.
I have heard it can happen unofficially on some teams. More a “look the other way” than official PTO that can be cashed out.
True this. I've negotiated for an extra week of PTO that is off the records.
I asked this very same question when I was negotiating with them which was very recent. Recruiter told me that officially the answer was no but that I could always strike a back door deal with my new manager.
It's a nightmare to track different allowed PTOs for different ppl officially specially when company has 500k employees. that's the reason most of the company have stopped negotiating on official paid time off..
When I joined I was told “I don’t care how much time you take off if everyone thinks you’re doing a good job. You self report your vacation”
Translation: you won't have time to take vacation, but if you spend a lot of weekends and you deliver, we might overlook a day here and there.
That’s not how I took it or actually used it. I’ve typically taken almost double my official allocation. Been here ten years and done well.
So I think the answer is generally no but I know someone brought in as a GM (L8) who was able to negotiate time off
