I have an offer from Palantir London. They offered me two positions, SWE or FDE, yet to discuss the compensation. Which one is more suitable in terms of growth?
SWE is much better and harder to get! FDE requires travel, and working with clients - whereas SE is more deep work on the core codebase.
So FDEs are like Consultants at Microsoft and CSE at Amazon? If this is true, OP shouldn't make the mistake which I did.
i’d guess that deployment strategists are more like consultants but yes FDE role is travelling to a client and major tweaks/setting up pipelines. SE is higher leverage work
How do you want to grow? Where do you want to be in 2-5 years?
Do you want to be more sales or eng focused?
FDE will be higher stress, more travel, more client interaction and solving real world problems. You're also gonna get a chance to lead a team sooner and get higher comp sooner. That being said, for development of pure tech skills and wlb swe is better. It is not uncommon for people to go from on to the other, and you can ask to be an swe but do a field rotation first to see how you like it
mind to share the TC?

TikTok Internal Situation. Should I join with huge bump in compensation?
You interviewed, you should be knowing the job descriptions already. I did the mistake of not asking proper questions during interview and later chose the offer straight away.
