Palantir NYC vs Palo Alto

Feb 15 24 Comments

Recruiter hinted to me that NYC could be an option but has low head count. I'm considering telling my recruiter to switch me to NYC as I prefer the city. I just have the hiring manager interview left. This is for a new grad swe position.

NYC - Foundry
Palo Alto - Gotham

Can I get some insight on WLB, learning opportunities, office size, etc, for each office location?

What Meta said is exactly my point. NYC ppl are used to this shit and accept it as normal. You can look at crime rate data online. Just visit Miami or Austin and compare that to current nyc and you’ll get it.

  • As a new grad it doesn’t matter, you’re likely going to seek out opportunities in 2 years simply because of market and comp. Choose based on city, as that’ll impact your life and how happy you are, jobs are easily changeable.

I’ve lived in Seattle, Sunnyvale, and now NY. I’ll tell you now, a single guy should 1000000% stick to nyc. Only consider the others if you’re married or getting an arranged marriage.
