I’m about to interview at Palantir for an SRE role. I’m curious about the process, salary range, and what life is like after you’re hired. I’ve read a lot of polarizing things about the company.
They’re a shadowy cia front company—not that that’s a bad thing—and you expect them to not be polarizing.
i don't think describing them as a "cia front" company is accurate. i think they are doing some pretty cool work in visualizing and integrating big data problems for both public and private sector. they also do contribute to solving some pretty humanitarian issues. they do not collect data, simply give tools to visualize, integrate, and act on data. i will say that they seem like a bit of a cult, although i think they do allow a fair bit of diverse thinking in terms of individuals, you should just expect to work long and hard with a lot of autonomy on the projects you're on.
Partially funded by a cia venture cap firm.
yes? after working for several start-ups i can tell you the degree of influence investors have on startups, particularly as they become more self sufficient and successful, is highly variable
I went for a onsite once, their presentations pretty much feels like you are part of a live strike against isis, the product was Gotham
for me there was much more emphasis on the corporate side of their products
+1. Interjected "why don't we call [the terrorist] and ask him to stop?" No one else was amused ;)
Probably interesting work, but being subject to regular lifestyle and counterintelligence polygraphs sucks. Take it from someone who’s been there before. It’s stressful.

It’s probably an on-site interview.
