Palo Alto Networks?

I’m thinking of moving to Palo Alto Networks. I know their comp is nice, but I know next to nothing about their culture. Anyone know what their culture is like? Are people happy there? Challenging projects? I’m thinking of moving there maybe next year as I feel like Li doesn’t have many interesting problems to solve at this point and I’m stagnating.

Avoid their cloud division, very toxic environment.

What was your experience? They seem pretty happy to me. Is there a particular team?

Even I had a similar thought. But my concern is how are these vendor networking companies gonna be in the future when more enterprises move from on-prem to AWS/GCP/Azure. Will they still be relavent?

I think everyone will always need on premis security no matter what. Palo has nowhere to go but up through growth or merger.

Native firewall options in the cloud are ****

I think pan is a very interesting company. The corporate culture is good. Your experience heavily depends on your manger. Some good and some bad. I have been at pan for 3years and like it. There are some micromanaged engg groups. Avoid them

Depends on the cloud team. Like every job, make sure the team you are working with has a good fit in terms of WLB culture. Always ask those questions in interviews.

Cloudera ezhV34 Jan 10, 2019

How about the Auto Focus team? Is the WLB and culture healthy on that team?

Palo Alto Networks LWtE67 Jan 10, 2019

That's a great team to go for! TBH, WLB in Palo Alto is definitely different from other companies. Do they expect you to work like crazy? Yes. Do they allow remote work? Depends on team, not sure about AF. Do they have a positive outlook as a company? HELL YES, and this is why most people work here. It's also very responsive in my experience. If you have a good arg for why to do things a certain way, you can be heard. I fought like hell after joining the company, even burning Bridges with my SVP at the time, but the end result? Everyone in management respected me MORE for challenging the status quo, including everyone whom I thought I had burned Bridges with

How is PAN now? Specifically SRE role.

Cisco MonkFerari Apr 2, 2019

How is globalprotect team?

Palo Alto Networks cckw30 Apr 15, 2020

PANW 'GPCS' renamed to 'Prisma Access' is a toxic team. specially SRE job. Lots of micro-management by manager. Avoid this team if you can.
