I'm in the final interview stages of a SWE position at Pandora and I wanted to get some insight on what to expect for the TC. YOE: ~1 Location: NYC Also how is Pandora's company culture? Do they offer WFH or is it mostly hybrid/in-person? How is the outlook of the company's future? #swe #pandora #siriusxm #softwareengineer #softwareengineersalary
My team is also pretty chill. Did not enjoy my last team as much but transferring was a big improvement. Definitely some big variations in management style but some of the people who were the problem in that situation have since left and it is a breath of fresh air.
My team is also pretty chill. TC isn't bad given the WLB, half-day Fridays, chill teams and managers. Would you mind editing your post with offer details when you get it? The community would greatly appreciate it 🙏
Great WLB. Good work. Good comp in terms of cash.
So adding to this, my wife has been offered Senior SWE = 184k, 100k rsu She completed 14 yrs at Cisco. She applied and interviewed for Senior Staff SWE but this is what they are offering after 2 weeks of negotiations. In her current company, she is a Tech Lead and manager consideration is coming up. We both and her friends think she is being low balled here - lower salary and a demotion. But she is also torn on the team being very nice with her and the WLB. Any recommendations here?
this was for which location?
What was your Pandora offer?
On my team at least, culture is good. Very chill and laidback with the expectation that you’ll get your work done on time. Half day Fridays indefinitely. If you’re a SWE and your role isn’t explicitly remote, you’ll have very little in office expectation (once a quarter-ish if even that). Lots of very smart people across the company, especially OG pandas. TC depends on level and your team. Overall, per hour of actual work the TC is not bad. Especially for newer hires. With 1 YOE I’m guessing you’re interviewing for a SWE II or III level role?
Love that you all have half day Fridays! I have a little less than 1 YOE so I'm interviewing for SWE I
