Pandora stock
Anyone else view this as a long-term buying opportunity? Pandora employees, how do things look there? Turnaround imminent? Are you guys holding your stock?
Nah, I’ve offloaded every single RSU I’ve ever received at the earliest possible moment and it’s been the right move EVERY TIME for about four years running.
Offload it and move it into some record labels cause everyone is making them fat cats 🤑
Wall Street doesn't understand the value of Pandora. It's pegged closely with Spotify's expected IPO, but with how they structured their recent deals, I don't think it's gonna end well. The real issue is that this industry is just "cutthroat" and everyone but the customer is losing their shirt over this to the record labels. Pandora is probably the closest to profitability out of all the services, and Spotify is just propped up by VC capital. Like the recent earnings report for Pandora was actually alright, despite lower listener hours. The fact their investors are trying doing something similar to a secondary sale is indicative that they aren't doing too hot and can't stand up to public scrutiny. Honestly, in general music streaming as an industry to invest in isn't that great, but the profit to loss ratio for holding isn't great enough to dump any of it, esp since I'm properly hedged. If you're gonna drop any money into it, expect a long hold and not a bitcoin miracle (that goes for all stocks really, but worth reiterating) and think about slightly hedging against the industry as whole/dump some money into a record label.
What do they have that Spotify, Tidal, and Apple don't? I don't think there's room for more than two players.
Pandora has 70 million active user per month in US (strictly US) that none of the above services have. These users have been ads-tolerant and loyal for a decade now. If we play our moves right, we can increase our ad revenue with this massive user base. We are still rank#1 in audio ads in US. All we have to do is keep this user base engaged so that they don’t leave and improve our ad tech. I am not saying that’s easy but this answers the specific question you posted above.
I’m selling bc it’s a long term growth. Plus once Sirius Xm buys more it will then end up a box inside their company.
Dropped everything. Might be a long term hold, but I am not willing to take that risk.
