Doesn’t have to be at GCP or AWS, but i cant seem to get the professional experience these companies want (for like Sales Engineer or Cloud Engineer at GCP for example) because all the cloud partners want like 10 years of experience and my current employer doesn’t do anything with the cloud. what can i do? already got certified but that means nothing
Build your own side project using the cloud
I did, and I put it on my resume. And then when I get to the interview or phone screen they ask only about professional experience, and don’t care about side projects...
Then get somebody else to pay you to build cloud solutions. Like get on Fivver or Upwork. Underbid for your 1st project and help out an entrepreneur or somebody trying to create something. Then they leave an awesome review. Rinse and repeat, get more selective about the types of projects and increase your rate over time. Now you have a professional body of work. We know the first job is the hardest, this helps
