I recently interviewed with Bloomberg for a 12 month internship in London. For some context, I received an offer from another company a week ago and had a close deadline. So because of this deadline, my onsite interview at Bloomberg was pulled back 2 weeks. I gave the onsite, did all of the questions properly (LC Easy-Meds) and started waiting for a feedback. My deadline was approaching and when I emailed my recruiter again to give a feedback ASAP, I got sent a generic rejection email. I arranged a call and was told that because they haven't started interviewing other cadidates (and make decisions in January) and because I had a deadline in the first week of December (which was already extended once), it was easier just to reject an intern 😑 Accepted the other company i.e JPMC TC: £70k annually (intern) YoE: 0
Well, at least they didn’t waste your time, and btw, passing interview won’t guarantee an offer. There is a limited number of positions and usually companies interview more candidates and as soon as the position is filled, they reject other ones.
Yeah makes sense.
Wait so you think solving all problems will get you an offer every time? And how is a rejection email generic when it lists the exact reason you got rejected specific to your case?
Interview was a technical one, so only priblem solving. The generic rejection email was sent within 15 minutes of asking to hasten the process, then I arranged a call with the recruiter same day to know why the rejection.
Solving a problem correctly doesn't mean that you passed the interview. interviewers also look for communication and articulation. Interview is not the same as solving leetcode questions.
Why do you want to work at Bloomberg?
Because I have to do a 12 month internship in my degree and they offer one so...
🤔 is Bloomberg arrogant or am I?
£70k pounds as an intern at JPMC London? Base salary for new grads is usually £50K (Quants and Investment banking, the highest paying roles) at this company here . What is your role?

Awesome man! Congratulations for getting there
TC for intern is an hourly rate. Update your stat accordingly. Bloomberg doesnt let any candidate pass who take any hint from interviewers. If you got any, even a small one, you get a reject
Yes I did get a small hint from the interviewer, I have arranged a call for feedback on the Interview
You will get a generic answer : “practice your data structure and algorithm”
