A hiring mgr(VP) contacted me for a role at amz. When I responded to his invite, he replied back the very next day and said he can't proceed forward because of my past engagement with amz. I had one phone screen around 6 years ago (which went ok not great). But not sure why would it still be on the record for 6 years. So just curious does anyone from amazon know what could be going on.
I asked the VP but got diddly back.
Hmm, some candidates get ‘no hire don’t recycle’ but I would imagine that would not happen for a phone screen. Unless the phone interviewer had a reason to believe foul play or misrepresentation of some sort happened on part of the candidate
No hire, no recycle has a time limit of 2 years
Yeah! That is my research as well.
They black-listed you! Was the phone screening on behavior or skills? Contact their HR or hiring team. You deserve to know “if” you been black-listed. Or, there is an error documented on that interview 🤔. That is frustrating. Sorry.
Phone screen was tech + behavioral questions.
Logically, your skills has been developed and expended in the past 6 years. The Amazon principals and behavior are the one that matter from that interview.
Same name with someone else???
I highly doubt anyone will give you details.
That sort of treatment is supposed to be reserved for people that do highly unethical things in the interview, like sexually harass the interviewer or reveal trade secrets of your current employer. Either someone was greatly offended by you, passionately against hiring you, or there’s been some sort of mistake.
