I’m going out on paternity leave next year and am getting nervous to take it all and lose the momentum on my career.
Am I an asshole?
I see other parents that go on leave while they’re on top get replaced - either in mindshare or org leadership. It takes them a while to get back to the same stature.
To be clear, no one at FB is pressuring me not to take it all. Just my own observations. I also feel like a dick worrying about this when I’m about to have a kid. Regardless, I am.

I dont mind if they let me to take the whole year off to be with my kid and watch them grow and laugh... to me that is way more valuable compared to job titles and $$$.
