I make about 8k take home pay. Im about to have a child, and after my mat leave I will need to hire a nanny. Full time nanny is around 4k (high cost living area). I want to quit and take on a half time freelance role that allows flexible work time (work while baby sleeps/when husband comes back from work). Im willing to reduce my salary upto 50% (4k). Ofc i wont be getting bonuses and stocks, but ok with that. Hopefully this will allow me to take care of my child full time. Has anyone been successful doing this? Is it worth it? Should i just hire a nanny?

It's always the women who get this guilt-tripping about "someone else raising their children".
But sure, men can too. But it isn't a man asking the question.
