Yes professional services is exactly consulting and is customer facing. No its not the same pay. Level for level maybe 10-15% less on average compared to SDE. Proserve architects are post-sales and actually builds the solution for the customer. Travel is required pre/post covid.
Are there utilization targets? Do we have to find projects on our own if we are not billable?
Yes there are utilization targets. It's generally easy to get projects. There is always a lot of work. Definitely easier than finding projects in typical consulting firms. I am ex accenture and ex deloitte so can relate to it.
