How much do you save annually? What is your TC? Is 100K enough to live well and not worry about bills? New Grad looking to relocate, TC: 100K

where u working as new grad (assuming you’re single) 100k is plenty but also depends on where you’re gonna live/how much on rent. 1bd/1ba is >2400 somewhere nice, which could limit your save rate. low end of 1bd/1ba is ~1400-1800. btw you definitely need a car unless you live&work downtown

what are the desirable neighborhoods?

Intel kanye east Nov 14, 2019

basically neighborhoods west of the 5 (but south of the 78) are the more expensive neighborhoods

100k new grad TC is above average across all swe jobs in SD. Typical is prob 60-80k here for new grads. There are some bigger companies that will pay a new grad 130k+ tc, intuit/amazon/goog comes to mind. Interviews will be SV style LC though. Outside of those bigger companies hard to find jobs that pay more than 130-140kTC even for senior level IC. Top pay for senior level ic is prob 160k at these smaller companies. Lead and management can get more though TC 130k+options 7yoe

qcom pays just around 100k for new grad, aapl pays more than 100k for new grad and is in the top tier with goog/amazon
