Pepe’s in Slack

I’d say that 99.9% of pepe’s used in corporate environments (i.e slack emojis) are neither racist or offensive, but they still trigger folks regardless of context. :feelsbadman: What’s your take?

Pepe wasn't even a good meme before it was coopted.

Amazon AMZNBucks Jul 18, 2019

This. It was always a shit tier meme

I think everyone should be free to use Pepe whenever possible. Pepe is a way of life and I think we need to start accepting it in the corporate environment. Instead of story points, we'll use Pepes.

Last year in the Nvidia slack, someone brought up that pepe was a Nazi hate symbol according to the ADL and immediately got BTFO'd by the pepe user, who said he was Jewish himself. That was a good laugh.

It’s not blocked in your slack?

Nvidia HKCN11 Jul 18, 2019

No, and thank God for that.

Dude when did Twitter become North Korea lmao

Accenture StTarrant Jul 18, 2019

Don't use any conservative innuendo at work. Even when it's laughed off, the SJW will put you on a list and work to get you fired. Stay safe, lads.

State Farm TechLord Jul 18, 2019

And what conservative innuendo would that be?

Target tmDe33 Jul 18, 2019

"Wtf I only told a black gal to go back to where she came from at work and I got fired, fuck the PC libtards amirite?"

Pepe has been reclaimed from normies. A few people used a "sad pepe" emoji reaction in response to someone posting the news story about pepe being a hate symbol back in 2016, but that was the last good-taste use of a pepe at work. Trust me, you want to be a "normie" not a /b/t**d. The former is not an insult, it is a label created by the latter to express their envy at failing to be a productive member of society. Personally I don't really give a damn, but why risk attracting the ire of a progressive co-worker?
