Where is this located? I havenโt seen this perk as an employee
You can invest in some of the Prudential-managed funds at a discount as well as discount stock purchase program. No discounts on products like life insurance that Iโm aware of.
How does the ESPP work Can you give an example? How is the health insurance?
Basically you can purchase stock post-tax via paycheck deductions 4 times a year at a 15% discount. On top of that, you get preferential pricing- at whichever point in the quarter (beginning or end) the price stock was lowest, is the price you get (plus the 15% discount). Health insurance is nothing special but Iโm not on it. Right now itโs a smattering of Cigna plans with somewhat high deductibles, and an HSA account attached to help offset the deductible. Prudential kicks in a measly $800 towards the HSA, and the premium for a family is what I would consider average for an employer sponsored plan. Parental leave however is spectacular for our industry, just got upped to a whopping 10 weeks for either parent.
With Prudential the compensation is at market, if not slightly less, that what is available for comparable positions. With that said, the benefits keep employees around. For individuals who have been there for a few years you get 401k match, ESOP, 5+ week of vacations, and a pension plan (yes that is correct, Prudential has a pension plan that is significant by today's standard). This is only a few of the benefits as there are much more related to family care, which I personally am unfamiliar with. There is a bit of as a saying in Pru which is working there wont make you rich, but they make sure you do not retire poor.
I make 48k a year with 18 PTOโs, 401k after 1 year and pension plan after 3 years.
