Just a random question/thought. I was wondering if there were any perks working in the tech/IT department of a car manufacturer like Porsche/Mercedes/BMW? In particular interested to know if there are any employee discounts on cars... Asking for a friend 🙄 Thanks awesome Blind community <3
Yes, there is car purchase discount for yourself, friends and family. At least at US manufacturers. Also, pension and ability to test new cars.
Nice. Need a friend that works at Porsche now. 😅
Depending on the company and possibly your job level you get deeper discounts than are available to the general public or a monthly allowance toward a vehicle of that brand.
Mercedes Benz (Atlanta) offers lease-like option above IT staff manager. Kia (Southern CA) offers incentives to drive their cars for the equivalent of principal IT consultant. For example, if you want to lease a KIA 900, you may receive an extra $400/month. The number is not accurate, but gives you an idea.
just maximize tc bruh and you can buy a car at full price with cash to spare
Thanks but TC is not an issue here trust me 😜. I will just always appreciate more the experience of buying something with a discount vs full price, no matter my net worth. The feeling of not being scammed, maybe...
There is some small leasing discount on S/X here I believe.

Not sure about cars. I know airliner employees and their traveling buddies get free flights.
