Thoughts on Pinterest growing as a company? I see revenue increasing but for those working there, how much potential is there left! Thx
I think there's a lot of *potential* in terms of expansion into new markets around the world, but the real question is going to be how quickly we can execute and get there, and I think hiring / retention is going to be one of the biggest headwinds. I also think folks may need to temper their expectations as to growth rate. We are growing, and things are moving in the right direction, but I don't think the velocity will ever be what they were projecting a couple years ago.
That is awesome thanks
What's their moat?
Nobody wants to save their interests to facebook. Would take forever for a new player to catch up to our massive content base.
Pinterest is not going to be profitable anytime soon, especially if they count stock grants like public companies do. Looking at Snap (much bigger than P) and Twitter (achieved profitability and also much bigger), Pinterest's current stock price might be hard to defend... It's a risky bet financially. Career growth-wise, it can be a good option. Promotion is fast. Lots of holes in leadership which can be filled by you, if you do it right. Lots of things to fix and make impact.
Risk is worth it. Thanks
I’ve been here for a few years. Never bought into the ridiculously high goals from the former president. But we’ve been growing solidly in both users and revenue. Ive been very happy based on my own expectations. It’s not an explosive viral social company. It’s personal to the users.
How is the leadership?
Some line managers are fantastic. Some are not. Some Heads are great. Some are not. In general they care about people, but at the expense of execution speed. I’m totally cool with that.
Lot’s of potential, just don’t expect like 100% YoY growth. Just consistently up every year. Large ad business are kind of hard to topple (google, fb, twitter), other than SNAP which facebook copied. It’s a pretty safe bet, with less downside risk than other companies.
Solid growth, people-first culture, amazing WLB (team dependent but generally true). It’s not going to topple any of the major players but it will continue to grow in its own market. Users ultimately love the product, brand is really strong (essp outside of tech). Some gaps in leadership, but that means more opportunities.
I’m sold! Thanksssss

Better WLB at LinkedIn. Can't imagine growth potential is any worse either
