Just got offers from both companies. L2 for stripe and L4 for Pinterest. Total comp is similar across the two companies: Pins: 162 + 132/year equity + 20k sign on Stripe: 170 + 134/year equity + 25k sign on ml Engineer. Stripe is remote and Pinterest is in SF. I’m 3 YOE. Stripe has limited equity upside since it’s an annual grant. Optimizing somewhat for WLB but the Pinterest job might have return to office soon and I don’t want to move to SF. #engineering #software #stripe #pinterest #faang #uber #apple #google #amazon #snap #twitter #meta #facebook #square #paypal #block #apple #netflix #amazon @stripe @pinterest
Depends on team/org in Stripe. Sounds like you’re in payments optimization or identity? Can’t think of many other orgs with MLEs.
Payments yep - but isn’t culture pretty bad across the company?
Can you share your interview experience with Stripe?
How difficult were the ML rounds at Pinterest?
If you want to do ML, Pinterest is the easy decision. It's their core competency. API design, financial deals, and sales are the core competencies of Stripe.
How do feel about stripe’s culture

I’m surprised that no one from Pinterest commented yet
Pinterest stock looks attractive at the current price relative to Stripe at 95b valuation. However, since remote is a priority for you, I'd go with Stripe.
Which one did you choose OP?
Hey OP, which company did you end up joining?
It rto is not an option, you can only choose Stripe, right?
Yea but I would move if the alternative is being pipped which seems more common at Stripe
Pins has decreased active users in US and I heard attrition rate is high. Would that bother you as well?
