Been seeing some chatter about a Plaid valuation cut.

Can anyone from Plaid confirm?

Not true. Carta seems to be showing the 409a price not the post money valuation. The 409a price was always 300+ and looks like it barely dropped.

There’s no meaningful change and I don’t think our valuation is down at all. Plaid raised in March of last year, so the valuation probably went up a lot by Nov and you can say it probably normalised at or around the March valuation.

Again no one can say for certain what happened. If you prefer liquidity then there are better companies out there, but overall Plaid is a super strong business with a very strong moat and the benefits will compound in the years to come.

Someone should really understand valuations and 409as before making such a reckless claim.

No one is certain what happened with the valuation change (in the internal Blind). The 409a valuation has changed, from what number is being debated right now.

Either way, there's no confirmation if it has actually dropped by the "50%" that's floating around.

It's worth reading up on what a 409a is. Plaid valuation didn't change at all. 409a is a tax tool that is relevant to peeps that have options, and that number barely wavered
