Scrolling just doesn’t feel as responsive as it used to, “Alexa... Alexa... ALEXA!”, 50% battery already?!... I’m sure you’ve been in situations like this. Technology appears to degrade faster than it should, and what do we do? “Upgrade” to the newest version at a hefty cost. So here’s the question: Have you ever been directly involved in — or have you ever been aware of deliberate actions taken to cripple or degrade older devices to elicit a sale? Please share your stories with us!
Literally all the Apple people be voting this up lol
Most Apple hardware actually lasts a pretty long time. Cutting support for a product isn't the same thing.
You’d be surprised about how much work is put into making old devices work It would be so much cheaper and easier to go the Samsung route but part of keeping customers happy is making sure we actively support old hardware
Not in the sense of actively introducing problems, but I've seen many instances where bugs weren't fixed with the explicit intention of forcing customers to pay for the newest version in some of my previous roles.
It happens when people and companies are obsessed about leetcode and tc instead of quality and pride in work
