Current TC $290 - PM 65 - YOE 15 Meta IC6 TPM offer $230k base 20% bonus $600k RSU Sign-on $75k I am torn. Love my PM job at MSFT, but the peanut TC is killing me. With the upcoming split Product/TPM coming to MSFT, it feels like our tech skills will shrink. TPM job is in infra. I am a little concerned after reading comments on Blind that TPM is not a very respected job. #Meta #Facebook #tpm
Wow 70% raise. Congrats!
What’s TPM, product or program management?
Technical Program Management
Could you clarify what does that entail? Is it like project management but tracking a broader initiative (administrative) or does it also involve product strategy/vision? It seems to mean different things in different companies.
TPM job at Meta is tough - as it is not well defined, I have seen too much churn. At the same time PMs in infra have to work like TPMs all the time as many times there is no user facing product. I am a swe so take that with a grain of salt.
I’m a Meta infra PM. In no way do I not respect our TPMs. It’s just a different job with different expectations. TC bump is pretty sweet. Also, TPM wlb is better and less stressful than PM since you deal with less ambiguity. Really depends on what you care about.
Which infra team are you part of?
I’ll keep that private to stay anonymous
Good one. Take it. Congratulations 🎉
dang dude. is 600 per year or per 4 years
Would you like to sell your soul for the money? Every price comes with cost.
How much money made you decide to join a company that heavily markets high interest credit card loans to vulnerable customers and had to get bailed out with tax payer money in 2008 to shutdown its mortgage division?
I didn’t join 2008, and it is getting much better. Other than the way to treat customer, COF treats employees good, good WLB.
Isn’t this the case in every company? Why specifically this offer ?
What do you mean?
TPM is a pretty different role to a PM at FB (and everywhere really) but assuming you like the job duties its worth the jump for a big move in comp imo.
YoE?
