Hey group, Please help to get into tech from a non-tech background. How old are you? How much effort are you willing to spend? Dont think about apple or intel,... if you come from non tech background
I'm 38. I'm willing to start from a lower position and work my way up; nothing is out of reach or below me. If Apple is my target then I am willing to start in a smaller tech company to get that tech experience. Anything will help.
I always had this question of how people transition into FAANG with relevant experience but in different industries
This was my experience. 1. I worked for a startup for a few years who sold products on Amazon (my background was in sales). Essentially managed their ecommerce business. 2. Joined Amazon with that experience and learned a ton while doing 3 different roles on 4 years. (Business dev and Transitioned to Product). Had a manager who took a chance. 3. Work at Google as PM now. It’s possible!
That sounds like a solid pathway. Anyone at Google or Amazon you work(ed) with would give me a chance maybe?
