On a work Visa, saw some deleted post claiming of making $500k+ in consulting?. My magic number is $350k and remote. Insurance can work out through spouse. Less than 40 hours and remote. I'll basically Keep doing this for next 8 to 10 years and FIRE. No dealing with company Kool aids, death march, ownership etc BS which sneaks into your life. Is that possible?

Perhaps if you have a really rare skill set, you can command super high rates. But not your standard SDE.
I also have a lot of skills on leadership and management, but I don't typically offer those as a separate consulting service because it's just not where I'm trying to compete. But good organizational skills and leadership skills are crucial to good project management, which I do offer.
Skillset requirements will largely come down to the client's requests, and it may be your job to know when to walk away, because your customer won't know where that line is. I've worked in Swift on iOS despite never having written a line of it in my life or owning an iPhone because the scope of the project was appropriate and I knew I could do what they were asking. I've turned down jobs in technologies I'm much more familiar with because those factors didn't line up. Be flexible, but know your limits.
