I’m getting a “high” E6 offer and my director here mentioned I’m one cycle away from an L6 promo as I already started performing at that level.
Want to evaluate the opportunities. My work here is interesting and I kinda like the job. I recently got good retention bonus too. Current TC 680. Passed cliff already. Offer TC is roughly 760 including a 50k sign on.
Haven’t negotiated hard yet. This move seems just moving for some more money. I care more about career growth and scope at the moment.

E7 is very difficult
Ability to influence people and make everyone around you better. Discover things we should do that nobody has realized, or handle very ambiguous problem nobody knows answer to. Team wide (1-3 teams) scope. Delegate to people and you usually do the hardest things.
The consensus is that E6 is rough to join as a hire. E7 promo might be longer because you'll spend first year ramping up to E6.
Depending on your current level at uber you might be able to handle it
