I recently interviewed with Two Sigma and I was rejected after the hiring manager round. No feedback was provided and I was wondering where I might have failed. I got a generic message that essentially said "after careful review of the qualifications we do not have an appropriate position at this time". Basically a polite reject. For the interviews, I first did an online assessment, then a phone screen, followed by virtual on-site coding session and finally another virtual on-site with 4 hiring managers. The final on-site virtual session with hiring managers seemed pretty chill, it was mostly focused on what I did and what I am looking for and I thought it went quite well. So I was very surprised with the rejection. Can the Two Sigma community shed some light into what are some of the factors that would have contributed to rejection ? Could it be that I failed at the hiring committee level or was it a failure at the hiring manager round ? I wish feedback was provided since it would have helped me improve my shortcomings. No idea, same thing happened to me dawg
Maybe they just got another candidate. Better luck next time
It could be anything. Just like dating, you can ghost her for whatever reason
Its two sigma. You can optimize everything perfectly and give the interviewer a striptease and still get rejected
lol
It means you passed the tech bar but no team wanted you. That happens every once in a while from what I’ve gathered.
Was it 1hr with each hiring manager or 1hr with all 4 hiring managers. I thought 2sigma was tougher than fang but one panel interview seems pretty easy. Also I have no idea so take my words loosely but if it was panel and you did well it’s possible that they think u can be a good fit for the company but not for the role you are interviewing for. It could also be that u answered the questions right but not at the level they expected. Don’t sweat it just move on. It’s hard for companies to provide feedback to every candidate. That’s a full time job for the company at that time. Sorry it did not work out and hopefully it does some other time
For the final on-site rounds, I had 4 interview sessions with different hiring managers, each representing different engineering divisions. Each session was an hour long. I never considered how time consuming it would be for the company to provide feedback to each candidate. Makes sense as to why they might have such a no-feedback policy.
Exact same thing happened to me. I strongly believe the company is not doing well but they want to keep interviewing people as a front. May be out of base, but even one director in my panel was trying to reassure me that things were bad but getting better.
I had the exact same experience a couple of months back. The position is still open and keeps popping on my LinkedIn feed. Such a waste of everyone's time
