I have an offer from Facebook and another unicorn. I have the recruiter call with Netflix tomorrow. Do u think he will allow me to skip straight to onsite? I’m on a time constraint. I have 3 years of experience. Full stack engineer.
Following ....in the same boat
You are on time constraint... Not them... 😜
Well I’m fully prepared to turn them down because I probably won’t even get the job with 3 yoe. Don’t want to waste time unless I can skip straight to onsite.
Be firm with that and see what happens. Would love to know if you can share what happens
Doubt it. Netflix interviews at their own speed and will move fast when they’re interested in you. But you likely won’t get to skip the phone screen.
Tell the recruiter of your timeframe & ask if they can accommodate. Generally, companies only skip phone screen with people who have strong referrals or sometimes if they are coming from a competitor who has been a strong source of talent (I.e. googlers don’t need a screen at FB)
Problem is I have onsites scheduled wed to Friday of this week. So the earliest I can do a phone screen is next Monday.
Your strategy should have been Netflix first then everything else. Netflix will beat the other offers, and can be used to get better offers from other companies if you feel Netflix is too risky to join.
Talk to the recruiter, I have seen cases of people skipping phone interview, it is rare but it happens.
Up to the manager. It's possible
So the recruiter said he will forward my resume to two teams’ hiring managers. Looks like this will be a slow process.
(shrugs) go for it and see what happens
