Excuse my ignorance since I have little knowledge about the gc application process.
What is the benefit of i140 premium processing if aos cannot be filed with premium processing AFAIK?
For the context, the law firm is concurrent filing i140 and aos for me. I have received the receipt notice of i140, and aos application is still being prepared for filing. Btw, contrary to what I heard, I was required to submit to the medical exam result along with the aos application.

Quick approval on i140 gives you flexibility to move after 6 months (even without AOS).
Added benefit: if AOS processing starts before i140 approval, you wonโ€™t be pushed back in queue

Can you explain further the โ€œadded benefitโ€? When does the pushing back in queue happen?

@amazon: this is info from some blog; typically USCIS processes 485 based on receipt date and by the time when your application comes to processing (around 6-8 months later), if the i140 is not approved you would be placed in a pool. This pool would be queried periodically (presumably every month ) for the approved 140s and then will be prioritized based on receipt date 1st preference + priority date combination

  • In case you are approaching 6 year mark of H1B status and company wishes to extend your H1B, you need your I-140 approved. Premium processing helps big time to accelerate your application in such cases.
