Prior to Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Microsoft, what was the Big 4 of previous decades? IBM, Oracle, Cisco, ....?
Yahoo
Deloitte KPMG EY PwC
This is the correct answer. How do people not know this?
It was Big 6 when I emerged: Deloitte was Deloitte and Touche (or as I called it, Toilette and Douche), PwC pre-merger = Price Waterhouse + Coopers & Lybrand, and of course ther was Arthur Andersen. I entered the field just after the Big 8 (EY = Ernst and Whinney + Arthur Young, Deloitte and Touche = Deloitte Haskins and Sells + Touche Ross, KPMG = Peat Marwick Mitchell).
I still remember Oracle bragging about being "second-largest sw company in the world (after MSFT)".
Because they think software company is not internet company
They were running with "Internet changes everything" slogan in the early 2000, so this is not it. It's more likely because two of the biggest ad agencies... errr... internet companies of current decade were still in diapers then.
