Can anyone talk about the culture and work life balance at Autodesk? I recently got an offer and I am shifting the domain over to Devops as well. I am interested in hearing from Autodesk current employees.
Grade 13 ?
I am not sure about the levels and grades. This is the offer I had.
Sad offer, not worth the suffering from the company's rotten culture and dull office life in the SF office. Ask for more if you don't care about the culture problems and not looking to be promoted.
I think the offer is a low-ball for the yoe and position. Wlb is great, culture is good for the most part but some layers of upper/middle management can be improved
Culture? What culture? They talk about open, collaboration and compassion but only to shut you down at every corner. Management is delusional and in denial. Your PM / PO and managers will more likely to sabotage your effort to improve so they don't have to admit failures made by their past decisions. This is what I observed in the SG office. SF may be different, I don't know. I'm just coasting along until my first annual bonus is paid then off I go.
The offer is not extraordinary. Overall, ask for more. Note that promotions are extremely difficult from this grade. You have to keep licking to go up 🙄
Agree with the two above
I am kind of changing domain too from development to devops ! Can anyone talk about the technologies that's mostly used in the devops world at Autodesk? Want to focus on learning them as I believe that's completely diff than what I do now.
I personally like the changes that are going on in the newly named forge platform department. The opportunities here remain to be demonstrated but they are committed to narrowing the focus id the department to key initiatives, giving engineers more autonomy and changing the way promotions work for IC, making it possible to have a promotion path outside of architect or management. Early days and only this department, but for the first time in a very long career, I'm optimistic about an organizational change.
Wlb and culture : great, What role /tc / yoe?
