I study mechanical engineering and was curious what the best path would be. I feel like beginning my career full time at Apple is the "safer" option as they're more likely to convert me to a full time, but it seems the work culture is more stricter/ stressful than at FB. I've heard going into PM or TPM roles right out for college as an engineering student backfires since it's very difficult to pursue actual engineering roles later on. What role would be best? What factors should I be considering here? Thank you in advance
PD at Apple for two reasons; 1) its one of the best teams out there if not the best. 2) if you have technical experience and a decent personality you can transition to a TPM

I did both Hardware Eng and TPM as an intern in the bay. I agree it’s hard to get back into eng after PM. If you want more technical experience, stick with eng. I would recommend PD at Apple, esp for an internship. Internships are low commitment and their PD is very good imo - great exit options. If you know you definitely want to do PM, go with Facebook. However I’d say you can’t go wrong with either
