Brief outlines below- Current title: System administrator in bank IT Responsible for: managing Ellie Mae Encompass Product and Solution. This is a Loan Origination System (LOS). Elements of day to day job functions: 1). system config 2). implementing and automating new workflow from my stakeholder requirements 3). troubleshooting any user issues 4). work on projects relates to the system Recently got the CSPO certified and using the agile methodology to partner with a CSM to drive current projects. Took some PM classes last year but the track is not completed. The CSM certification is on my 2020 calendar. My manager has been aware and supportive of my goals but we do not have a PM department yet! What are the things I could do to achieve this goal in the next a year of so? How can I get there? I’m Sooo Happy about Biden signing TikTok ban bill today!!
Start thinking/treating of your “projects” as products. Define it, personas, use cases/stories, prioritization, roadmap, make release announcements, gather feedback etc. then transfer internally Ellie Mae has PM team. Heard something like this: “don’t wait for the ticket to the dance, just show up”
You do that and you’ll be criminally trespassing
