I‘ve been asked to complete a take home assignment for an Associate Product Manager opportunity with a game studio. I really want to get this right. I’ve never completed one before. What can I expect? TC: 86k (yeah, I know, peanuts)
“Take hone assignment” is that what they are calling free labor these days
There is some truth to this statement
I just want to get it right. Not trying to start an argument. 😅
Maybe expect a small dataset in Excel and a problem statement. You will have to come up with strategy for the product based on the information you have and making assumptions for the info you don't have. Make sure to state assumptions clearly, have an easy to follow flow to your presentation, and insights from the data that drive your answer to the problem statement.
had a take home split into a data analysis problem and a feature design question
A lot of the APM programs are doing it. I just finished mine. Usually pretty general. Expect some sort of a big problem that will take ~15 slides to finish. Slide 1-6 market, industry, business competency Slide 7-10 ideation and coming up with a product idea 10-13 implementation 14-15 numbers + risk and mitigation They might give you some structure or might not. Maybe come back when you have the assignment? I also had to do some UI mocks for it and that was a beetch
Pocket games?
Hey ya gotta start somewhere. What's the hw?
I have a call tomorrow with the recruiter and after that they said they would release the assignment. Honestly have no idea what the assignment is about.
They will want to see how you approach a specific problem -- definitely related to the team/department you'll be under
