What do you think? The NYT neglects to mention exactly why Amazon was able to pay zero taxes but it's easy to find online. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/29/us/politics/democrats-taxes-2020.html
But they employ hundreds of thousands (not to mention the possibly millions employed indirectly) who DO pay taxes. Amazon (and other companies) is the sum of its employees, not some evil amorphous entity that exists to just screw the public and those “precious” tax coffers that is largely wasted anyway.
Then, they should just abolish the law that allows corporate to pay taxes... Maybe, let corporate pay taxes and be no income tax
They provide much more value that the government.
So Amazon uses government maintained airspace, airports, roads, rail, power plants, and other infrastructure and gives you a derived value from that in the form of 2-day shipping and ecommerce in general. Yet according to you, they provide more value than the government...sure, keep thinking that. You sound like a hipster libertarian.
People voluntarily pay for Amazon's services, that's how you know they provide more value.
Corporate taxation is double taxation anyway. Why are we taxing corporate entities if we tax the actual people who get the income anyway?
Corporate t*xes are evil
Apparently no one here knows basic accounting 😂
If you look at the financials Amazon doesn’t have a lot of net revenues. But they pay a lot in labor taxes and local taxes. So, that’s OK
The strong do what they can. The weak suffer what they must.
