How are promotions at Capital One HQ? Interviewing for a manager position next week and trying to get an idea of how promos work there. Browsing folks on LinkedIn, I see people going from manager to senior manager in anywhere from 6 months to 5 years, and senior manager to director in 1 to 8 years. As far as base comp is concerned, this is what I've heard from folks here in northern VA (not TC, just base). Are these midpoints in the ballpark for McLean? Manager: $140k Senior manager: $160k Director: $200k Current info: TC: $135k YOE: 15 overall, 10 relevant
I wouldn’t believe anyone who says they got promoted in six months. Promo after 1 year would still be extraordinarily rare. 2-3 years much more common. The higher the level, the longer it typically takes.
Are you tech, business analyst or something else?
This is an agile delivery position
I don't know a ton about agile delivery promo timelines sorry
ADLs are paid less as compared to tech and product. Honestly speaking they are always honeymooning with very little responsibility. IMHO there are a few who work work there Burt off and most of them are waiting to be retired. I envy ADLs
My background is more product--about a month ago I randomly was looking at C1 positions and applied for a handful that were split between product and delivery, since I've done both, but this is the one I got a call about.
Product > Delivery, every day
Not sure about Agile deliveries, but I have seen promos happen as soon as 6months, you have to knock things out of the park for it! The salaries seem pretty reasonable.Be open to a +\-10k
I've never seen someone go manager to senior manager in 6 months unless they came in under leveled
There are a bunch of folks in northern VA who worked for the same consulting firms that I did then moved to C1--at least two of them that I saw while creeping on LinkedIn did a ~6 month promo, but yeah, the rest were around a couple years on average, so they appeared to definitely be outliers.
