Biden to hand out green cards to 4000 illegals per year
What is the TC (total compensation) for a software engineer at Proofpoint and other similar companies (Symantec, Mimecast, and others)? Entry level? - <1 year exp + 2 past internships. Junior level? - 2 to 3 years exp Mid level? - 4 to 6 years exp Senior level? The level and the years may not match depending on how expert a person is but I am looking for a general range. Thank you!
At pfpt it's all over the map. Not sure what new guys are getting but in general pfpt pays one or two rungs down from fng. Stock has been a blessing and has gone through the roof. We are all doing very well.
But the new guys won't have the stock to help them. The stock is under pressure and analysts are putting it in HOLD and SELL position.
For new guys, would asking for 105k start be reasonable? My friend is leaving Proofpoint because of comp.
Also, much comp here is stock not cash
Thanks
How much are new guys making in your team?
Not sure. We aren't as standardized as the big guys.
Symantec entry-level top 100k, no stock
Hmm looks like Symantec pays 10 to 15% less than Proofpoint.
I forgot that is LA not SV
Symantec pays more cash, less stock. We tried to pry a guy out of there but couldn't match his comp. Not sure if he is representative. No idea about mime, not hiring in Bay area afaik.
Hmm ok. Yeah LA area is cheaper.
Thanks guys!
All in all, Symantec and Proofpoint can't be in the FAANG level (for cyber security market).
Paysa has answers. Anything specific u lookin for?
Because glassdoor compensation seems very low and maybe it isn't updated for these companies.
They are accurate. Low end of avg is to be expected
