PayPal is a much better place to be at.

Well, eBay's CEO just got fired....

Not that this is inherently a bad thing. Devin was good for the company for his first years, but has failed to move the needle recently. Hopefully the next CEO will help freshen up stagnant leadership and culture. Though, there are other reasons to not want to join eBay engineering...

Definitely go to PayPal, between the two. Idk if PP has changed, but their tech stack sucked as much as eBay's did when they were the same company. The upside is that PayPal has growth potential. Between the two, I think only PP will be around as its own company in the next 10 years. Otherwise, maybe eBay will be acquired, which is always good for stock. Also, from my friends who left SAP, eBay is very similar with both having pretty shit cultures.

Don’t t come to PayPal if you are looking to get your i140 processed within the next few months if that’s relevant ... regular annual layoffs delay the process by months ....

Six months to be precise. And that will be the case with any companies that has had layoffs currently.

I worked for for both if you like exposure to better technology choose eBay if you need better RSUs choose PayPal

Funny, I was in the same situation 2.5 years back when PayPal stock was 30$, I still joined PayPal because I had done my internship there and knew people were good. I don't regret the move esp since the stock is now ~100$
