I knowingly know my boss is employing people who do not have work visas from london and paying them through a UK bank account to their UK accts. I know this bc I do the HR (generalist) and ive advised against it along with telling him it was illegal. I have decided to leave the company due to these illegal pratices. What else can I do to protect myself? Should I file a report? or just go? Should I seek counsel? I wanr to protect myself bc he will try to blame anyone and eberyone else if he were to ne audited. HELP!
Reporting via blind is probably enough. I’m sure it is admissible in court.
File a police report and move on with your life. They will handle it.
Do you have to lose your job though? Wouldn't you be protected as a whistle blower?
I got a new job. I can’t morally work here.
Fair enough. Good for you. I am not sure of what the phone number is but USCIS has a hotline if you want to labor visa violations.
Look into whistleblower options, maximizes your legal protection. Work through that with a trusted lawyer before taking any action tho. Out of Chicago we’ve got some solid teams. Physical Copies of your notes, emails, ect referring to this is very important.
Okay thank you. I will work on gathering all of my information this weekend. Do you know any lawyers? Maybe the Chicago lawyers have offices in my city.

Take your examples of your opinions shared at the company (email, notes, etc) and send them to a lawyer from the office. Then walk out and never return. Ask your lawyer how to proceed. Our opinions here wont help, just get out and work through the realities with your lawyer.
