What role ?

Great company and benefits. Experience depends upon the team and division you’re in

Hitting my 10th year with Pru, great benefits, work life balance and environment. Changes in the city of Newark (not sure where your role will be) add more excitement as well.

It can be a pain if you’re not in Newark. Depends on if there is any career path in your division/location, or how much your team will want you to travel to NJ.

I think overall Pru is a great company to work for. I have been overall happy here. My only comment is that you should be aware that alot of changes are happening and still coming into 2020

Overall good company and benefits. Prob not the best in terms of pay but, bonus can be high depending on what level you are. Also, diff parts of the business have diff work culture. I've been in some areas where moral is low and some areas where everyone loves what they do and work rly well together.

Lots of changes in 2020.

As you’re probably seeing here, LOTS of changes coming so it’s tough to say what the culture will be like. The current culture also varies quite a bit based on your business group, department and location (and sometimes role). You’ll get more insight if you share that info here....that said, I’ve been in multiple groups/business areas and even locations and felt like the common positives for me were good flexibility/work life balance (not everyone has had that though....) and tons of opportunities to do different things IF you look for them AND network well. The people networks are very strong. It’s easy to post but difficult to get a different position unless you already know people there. For upward mobility, I’ve seen that lower levels can see rapid growth and then once you hit a certain level (depends on the area- could be manager or director), you pretty much have to change jobs, hope someone leaves, and pull a rabbit out of your hat to get promoted beyond that threshold. The commute to Newark sucks, but it’s worth it to be there because that’s where you’ll find the most opportunities, and have the most potential for exposure to senior leaders. Good luck! It’s probably a good thing if you’re coming in new at this time. Do some homework on “the future of work” before your interviewing you can. Regardless of what area you’re interviewing for, you’re going to need to know about that.

Agreed. Unless you’re like a VP, or willing to drive all over heaven and hell, being in the outer lying offices sucks for being promoted. I got promoted from associate (10p) to manager (9p) by basically just kicking ass at my job (but I’m not a manager of people) , but beyond that forget it. Not in design.

Damn they just laid off the IT?
