I have an offer for a SDE position using primarily python from Amazon. And another offer from Microsoft using mostly C#. Would using python makes it harder to find or transition to other teams that uses the more "enterprise level" programming languages?
Lol
Amazon is really a large Java shop
Screw Python. Depending on whitespace doesn't make code easier to read. Screw typeless languages. Type doesn't matter right up until it does. So just make it matter from the beginning! Where is my soap box?
*hands you a soap box* Keep sharing the truth! Fuck Python, fuck JavaScript. They were meant to write scripts not make large applications.
*Typescript has entered the chat*
Personally I would go Microsoft just because I don't want to be worked into the ground and be in constant fear of PIP. I work in C# and it's a wonderful language.
I miss C#. It's like Java, but with extra nice goodies.
I started with Python at Amazon and am now using c# at Microsoft. I have a huge advantage because I use python to automate many simple and complex activities. If you want to quickly deliver any service, Python is the best language especially with server less options.
Which team at Amazon?
which team in Amazon use Python primarily?
I am doing python in Amazon... I was a C# guy until I've saw my TC.

Your team in Amazon might be using Python primarily but from personal experience they won’t be restricted to it
Glad to hear that! In your experience, would using python make "learning opportunities" at work not as well rounded?
