Will the Google execs move to the new campus? If so, look for Google to hit hard times. In the Bay Area, it's a fairly common pattern for a few decades that when a high flying larger company builds a new, fancy HQs, they tend to go bust. Apple's prior new HQ was finished a little before it went bust in the 90s. Also, SGI, Pyramid Systems and others too. Look at Apple now after just moving to their new campus along with their execs. It might just be coincidence, but I think there is some correlation here since I believe the company loses focus when the execs are getting excited about moving to a new building and into fancy new offices. It's a multi-year process and they end up taking their eyes off the prize and leave openings for competitors to jump in. I have always praised Microsoft for not moving their exec office building when the fancy Microsoft Commons campus was built.
