I’ve been ghosted by recruiters from the same big tech company 3 times this year. Is it normal?
First time was earlier this year when a recruiter from this company messaged me on LinkedIn telling me how I would be perfect for some role I have not applied to and if we could set up some time for a call.
I was interested so I responded back with my availability and never heard back.
Second time was a few months ago when a different recruiter from the same company also messaged me on linked in telling me I could possibly fit some role and sent me a link to apply and let her know.
Again I was interested and applied and messaged her back within 24 hours. Never heard from them again.
And recent this week, I got an email from a different recruiter from the same company telling me they’re moving me forward for an interview and that I had 7 days to complete their online assessment.
Within 24 hours, I get another email from the same recruiter that the position has been filled already but they had one open in a different location. I told them I was interested.
I have not heard back at all.
It’s a FAANG company so I would think there would be a bit more professionalism especially if they reach out to me first.
Has this happened to anyone else? I’ve only recently started applying again, so should I expect more ghosting?
