I have an interview with Amazon in Arlington, Virginia as a QA Engineer. The job requires 2+ years of experience. I have 3. Does anyone know what kind of salary I could be expecting? Standard here for my experience is 90-110k. But this is amazon.
I took the interview. When I finished the coding challenge the lady asked me to walk her through the code. She obviously knew Java very well. I told her, I'm pretty sure this code should compile. She said, I cannot tell you if this is correct. I asked her why not? She ignored my question, said thank you for the interview. That was 40 minutes into an hour long interview. So i told her that I think something is missing in my code must be missing because the interview was supposed to be 20 minutes longer. Asked her to confirm. She said, if you're confident then it's all good. But if I wanted to add any loops then I still have the time. So obviously, my code was missing something. The lady gave me such a negative vibe that I just told her that I'm confident. I definitely don't want to work at a place that's designed to fail you. Screw amazon. Most companies are begging to get QA engineers on board. I don't need to be treated like this.
