I came to US with L1B visa and then i got H1B lottery. I recently got my change of status to H1B while in US but I don't have visa stamped. The visa appointments are always full and difficult to get in home country.

So am I allowed to change company by just having change of status to #h1b?

Can current company revoke my H1B status?

Will there be any impact on my entry to US if i work for another company now?

  • Yes you can change your company without stamping. There will be no impact on re-entry. You will get a new H1B approval for the new company (sometimes known as H1B transfer process). It's a very simple, quick and straightforward process.

Yes. Lot of people come here on F1 & then change to H1b & once it’s active (Oct 1st of the approved year), they change. You just need to keep both the i797 with you and get the stamp with new i797. You’ll also be doing visa transfer from now on.

Your current company will revoke your h1b after your employment is terminated.

If it was approved this year, I suggest you to wait until Oct.

Yea you can. But double check with the attorney who handles your case on the behalf of the company
