I have an offer from GS (Goldman Sachs), NYC and just been informed about an offer in the works at MS Azure (Redmond). If I take MS offer I'll have to relocate to Redmond.
GS:
Core Engineering (VP)
196k + 45k (for the remaining 5 months this year)
[Next year's bonus would be decided based on annual review; But I am told it would be significantly high to potentially get me above 300k+ TC]. Also being told, there is a lot of opportunities to grow, as this is a brand new initiative @ GS.
MS: Sr Software Engineer. Yet to know the numbers. What would be a reasonable TC to expect? Is it worth to relocate to Redmond for this opp.?
YOE: 20

If L63 can do $250k. If L64 can do $300k.
Btw Redmond has no state tax. WA $250k >> NY $300k. Wlb is better. Also you mentioned GS $300k is with very high good performance. Add $30-50k TC at MSFT for very high good performance.
GS: nyc is fun. Maybe some cutting edge work? Downside is youβre working for a bank.
Did you recruiter tell you anything like, this 45k is pro rated ?
You can always call them again and get this clarified. They are there to get you on board.
