An acquaintance of mine (big feminist on social media) believes that Bitcoin is fundamentally sexist because according to her, its a boys club and puts women at a disadvantage in terms of wealth creation.

I asked what she’d change and she went into tangent about how she wants it to be easier for the courts to assess crypto for alimony (among other things).

I didn’t feel like getting into an argument or taking the conversation any further. It’s never worth it.

Expect more of this.

Have to find someone from India/Asia/LatAm/Southern Europe probably, who have faced real sexism in their lives rather than this cadre of 4th wave jezebel trash who can't be bothered to lift a finger for women in iran or saudi.

White guy on a friend's team is raising his children without a gender. Women think money is sexist because they can't be bothered to learn how to make it.

Sounds like another case of SJW’s trying to gain attention after realising that they have missed another culture shifting boat.

They simply wasn’t interested in participating all them years ago when it wasn’t in vogue, and now they want to grab their pitch forks as they feel it’s unfair that they were left behind.

Inb4 they call for Satoshi Nakamoto to be cancelled.

  • I think she could have worded it better. A currency isn't inherently sexist but both tech and investing are definitely boys' clubs and bitcoin is right at the intersection, so I get what she's saying. The barrier to entry is higher for women. She also has a point with alimony, again it's not bitcoin itself that's sexist but it does enable sexist legal and financial patterns because it's untrackable

We don’t get it cause it is imaginary in your own mind. It doesn’t exist. Bitcoin is sexist? How are you going to fix it? By enforcing a diversity quota for bitcoin owners? lol

    • I own Bitcoin and bought it out early on.
I was referring to what TMobile said about systemic exclusion from certain communities and how the playing field isn't equal.

We’re talking about feminists here. For any phenomenon in the world the story is always the same: X favors men, you’re sexist, your success is undeserved, gimme!
